ARENDS CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN INC. has a speciaized Decking Division. We have grown to be one of the leaders in deck design and fabrication. Our decking of choice, but not limited to, are Trex® and Iron Woods™ Decking and Redwood S4S Select Heart. The Trex® Decking allows us to heat and bend the decking to achieve endless designs. The Iron Woods™ Decking is our choice of wood decking because of it rich Mahogany like luster. We try to obtain responsibly harvested Redwood when we use it. To further enhance our decks, we offer Stainless Steel Cable Rail or Tempered Glass. These are what separates our handrail systems from the rest.
Trex® Decking
Trex® products are made from recycled and reclaimed wood and plastic. The two combined give you the best of both materials. The wood helps protect the plastic from UV exposure and adds a slip–resistant surface. The plastic shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there’s no rotting, cracking, warping, or splintering. This decking has a 10 Year Warranty.

Iron Woods™ Decking
Iron Woods™ are certified as being harvested from sustainable managed forest using legally harvested logs. Because of its natural extractives and incredible density, Iron Woods are guaranteed to withstand attack form insects, rot and decay. Five times harder and much denser than softwood decking, Iron Woods™ are highly resistant to splintering, scratching and wear from abrasion. It has a Class A fire resistance: similar to concrete and steel. This decking has a 25 Year Warranty.
Redwood S4S Select Heart Decking
If available, we purchase certified Redwood decking. We will only use All Heart Redwood. What this means is that there is not any Sap Wood in the product. The Sap Wood is the white wood sometimes seen in less expensive decking. The Sap Wood is the first to rot, whereas the All Heart is more resistant to decay. Because of the Protected Forest Act there is a scarce supply of all Heart Redwood.
Cable Rail™ Handrail and Tempered Glass
When our clients come to us they are usually looking for a cut above the average decking company. We specialize in making your deck into a piece of furniture rather than a run of the mill deck. One way we do this is to offer Stainless Steel Cable Rail™. This is a horizontal cable system that allows for views. We also offer ¼” Tempered glass panels. We custom make these panes to each of our decks specifications. Both of these systems a step above our competition.
